I’ve had a stage in my life when I couldn’t get out of the house without wearing or bringing my trustworthy sunnies. Actually, I’m still like this, but on a much controlled level. HAHA I know we all love wearing shades and glasses because they add “fierce” and “funky” to our overall looks! PLUS, they cover up our big eyebags during those weeks of…sleepless nights. HAHAHA
SO, when I saw Paterno Store’s page in multiply, I automatically asked if they sponsor my first ever blog giveaway… and they said YES! :)
Paterno Eyewear store offers classic and vintage pieces with prices that range from 200-700. These are just of my favorite items from their store.

TOXIC CANDY CLAY SHOP is a different kind of online accessory shop. WHY?
1) They use a different material for their products, CLAY! (duhh. haha)

just look at these hand crafted items. They’re too cute to pass.
2) They Recycle. Random “junk” such as legos, ribbons, keyboard keys and old toys are enhanced and creatively assembled to come up with a unique pieces.

3) They make personalized items

I’m planning to have one made for me. HMMM. These make cute Christmas gifts, right? :)
These are definitely cute and one of a kind! That’s why bloggers such as KRYZ UY, LISSA KAHAYON and AVA TE use ‘em :”>

Thank you so much to Tracy Ayson for choosing me and Francesca Arches to join her in this event!

The goal of “love DIVA” is to launch its amazing products to fashion enthusiasts ang newbie bloggers like me to learn the basics and what not in fashion/styling and blogging. It was strategically planned for old-time bloggers (big sisters) and newbies (little sisters) to interact and learn from each other. In line with all the lessons from pros in styling and blogging, the attendees were also able to see firsthand their new products. :) (We were the first 30+ people who saw their collection! :”>)

AGENDA: “Getting to know you” part, Bring me game (for those with pink stuff on ‘em), talk: about blogging by Kookie Buhain and Melai Entuna, styling talk by my big sister in that event: Tracy Ayson and co-iskolar Tin Iglesias, styling contest, handing out of certificates, accessory shopping and dinner at Cyma.
The event was hosted by Ms. Melai, ang raketista (got the term from her hehe)

Then followed by a short “bring me” game of specific pink items. (I won the “bring me a pink ring” part. TEEHEE! :”>)
Off to the main event—the talks. First to give us some tips in blogging was Kookie Buhain of Death by Platforms. Bottom-line of what she told was to be ourselves. Yes, that’s the gist. It may sound cliche but that’s why it’s cliche because it’s true in almost every situation. Never pose as someone else or be pretentious. Remember that your blog is a reflection of who you are, so don’t cover it up with what someone else thinks. Post as much as you can to update your blog but always remember that it should have content, or like what writers say…substance. You will gain readers if your blog has something worth reading.

Next up was a talk about opportunities you get from blogging by Melai Entuna. (MONEY!) I really looked forward to this talk since I also believe (just like Ms. Melai) that going online is the way to go! Seriously, it’s fast and easy, perfect for our busy and tech-dependent generation. From her advices, I’ve picked up that opening an online shop can open alot of doors for you: collabs with other bloggers, more readers, money, ads; a whole network! Venture into a lot of things, most fashion bloggers we see have also extended their expertise in modeling. :) “Market yourself”, the perfect example to support this tip would be Ms. Tricia Gosingtian. She is her own brand. Not that I’m saying that we should reach that level too, but who knows, right?! You work your way to the top. So start by talking to people and be connected. Go to events, blog about them, post pictures…make an EFFORT to inform people! You’ll never know what you’ll get from your connections. (PERKS)

Then the styling advice from Tin Iglesias and our big sister Tracy Ayson! (We were with them almost the whole event, saya nila kausap!) They told several tips and here’s what I remembered. You are not obliged to follow trends. Plain, simple and self-explanantory. Don’t be afraid to repeat your outfit… because it all depends on the styling. And, Tracy personally believes that when you really love a certain item from your wardrobe, you’d love wearing it…thus the repeat. I couldn’t agree more. What’s the point of buying an expensive dress/top/shoes if you’ll only use it once? Also, your wardrobe should include these key pieces (these are also known as “wardrobe staples” dagdag sa “fasyon vocab ko” HAHA) : classic black pumps, white button down shirt, blazer, neutral colored-pieces, etc. Lastly, I asked a question on what trend they are into lately. Tracy: classy & neutral pieces, Tin: sheer, animal print, grunge.
*the next paragraph is my own advice. (serreh na, na-inspire ako) So, with these items (and more, nakalimutan ko na ung iba :( ) the next step is how well you put them together. This is where your personal style comes in handy, the same dress worn by two different people will look totally different because of the styling. Add accessories, tuck in a top, wear a skirt as a top, add a blazer, or wear it as it is; it all depends on you and how you want to express yourself through the outfit. :) After all the outfit shenanigans, carry yourself well and be confident! A stunning top is nothing if you don’t carry it well.

After the talks and questions came the styling event! The blogger sisters grouped into one of the four corners of the store and put on love DIVA’s amazing accessories to the bloggers outfit. (yes, kami magsstyle sa blogger, nakaka-pressure. HAHA!) Here’s our attempt with tracy’s look.
BEFORE: crystal accessories AFTER: animal inspired accessories.

winner: Ana Gonzales + sisters :) *photo from her blog :)

I really enjoyed using love DIVA’s accessories. The options are…confusing! (in a good way) too many good items, you’ll end up getting a handful. HAHA (i dedicated a separate blog post just for their accessories)
Then…giving out of “diplomas”, awarding of “bring me” winners and shopping for our new accessories from love DIVA!

I was actually overwhelmed with how generous the company was in giving us GCs worth 1k and treating us all out to dinner in a greek restaurant. To add to that, the overall atmosphere, the crowd of bloggers and love DIVA people were all so nice and kind. They talked to us and made an effort to remember all our names! They were all so open in giving advices and sharing their experiences, napaka-humble nila, no wonder they are where they are now because they’ve managed to keep their heads on the ground.
This event was a total success! Congratulations to love DIVA and all the organizers and participants!
***I have two more posts about the love DIVA event, wait for ‘em THANKS! :)
