Hi friends, I would like to invite you to our ministry’s dance concert. It’s called David and it’s going to be different from your usual dance concert!Who is David? He is an artist, a leader and a warrior. But most of all, he is a man after God’s own heart.
Here’s something we believe: We can all be transformed. A simple thought expressed in the beauty of movement can move you and change you. Can make you believe in something more. It all starts with an idea. The idea that it’s not going to be about how many flips we do or the difficulty of our steps. It’s going to be about how far He can stretch our souls to reach out to you.Come join us on September 1, 2012. This concert will make it possible for us to be transformed together, to rediscover each other’s gifts and to learn how to use it to worship the Lord.See you there!

I’m so stoked to watch (via live streaming) this year’s World Hip Hop Dance Championship. Aside from the given that I love to dance and dance itself, I believe that this year’s WHH is more pumped up than ever. And, we have 9 crews (participating in varsity, adult and megacrew divisions) from our country who’ll be joining the competition. I just can’t help but feel all excited inside when I hear one of our teams place in the WHH. :”>

Yes, that’s how much I believe in our country’s talent, declaring that they’ll place in the top waaay ahead. I believe our country has one of the most commendable dancers in the world, and their participation in this competition has already proven that. The fact that they got qualified to join already says something, what more if they win?

To all the crews joining and representing our country, you make us dancers proud for being out there already. You’ve already won in our hearts, the title is just a bonus. Thank you for inspiring us, especially me.
Hoping for the best. #PinasPataas !!!
love,

To those people who were able to experience what I did in Henry Lee Irwin Theatre on the night of November 16, 2011; you know what the title of this post means. To those who haven’t the faintest idea, well please allow me to explain to you that we were not Samcey Supsups (Philippine’s runner-up in the late pageant) for a night. WE WERE an audience to the late revolutionists of dance, ReQuest Dance Crew, in their “Crown Yourself” Concert here in Manila. Yes, they flew all the way from Auckland, New Zealand to share their greatness to us. (With the Help of Vimi Rivera of UP Street’s The Crew. I believe we owe alot to this man) They’ve taught classes to our country’s own group of talents which includes Sayawatha, LSDC Street, Groove Central’s dancers, UP Street and the like. On that epic night they performed alongside with Legit Status and The Crew.
I cannot even describe in words what happened that night, but let me (attempt) start with this: it was the best dance concert most of us has ever experienced. Not seen, experienced. Watching is just a term used to please the eye, experiencing is feeling , or even learning and living what is on stage
As we were all watching from the edge of our seats, we became extensions of their crowning glory. That’s how affective their movements were.
What I love most about them is that they are women who can dance from Jazz funk to dancehall and krump and still manage to move as one. Each hit, wave, pop and step are in sync. They are always in charcter. Their attention to detail and “small” steps can still be felt, and in a big way at that.
Almost every piece needed time to process and absorb as they were all affective and intense; and it was a touching moment for us when they concluded the event with their world’s piece. (We asked for an encore) They requested us to cheer them on while dancing because they were already exhausted from giving us our show. Some of us might have even been teary-eyed while doing this.
I personally believe that a true dancer does not seek to stand-out on her own, but has the humility to control oneself so as to let the group and the choreography alone to stand-out. Dance is truly phenomenal on it’s own, but teamed with passionate dancers, elements, blocking, character and stunning choreography makes it more of an art rather a form of entertainment. (and is more valuable that what our mainstream entertainment industry offers.)
I’ll stop now before this post ends up being a novel. It was truly a memorable night with the queens of dance as they crowned us royalties to pass on their legacy. For the future countries they’ll visit, watch out, You’re about to be crowned as these women Run your world.
*ReQuest conducted classes, had a concert in Henry Lee Irwin Theater, appeared in ASAP and had their culminating event in Glorietta 5.
*now for the photos (all are from their FB page, posted by fans who took their photos, last few one are mine ) I just attended their concert and had a class with them :)

Parris is really one of the sexiest dancers out there.
