I got the title from Saab Magalona’s blog, so no copyright infringement intended there. The title just really fit my “blogger” status right now. HAHAHA. Let me break it down for ya’. I’ve been writing for wheninmanila.com for a month or two now and my editor loves my posts! Praise God! so that’s good, I’ve mastered that kind of writing. Though I wanted to grow as a writter/blogger so I considered venturing into food blogging as well, or writing for food because well…i love food! I believe writing for food and taking photos of it takes as much practice as any kind of blogging. Mainly because it’s a new subject for me: new adjectives, new imageries, new things to consider like taste, plating, service, value for money and such.
So here’s my attempt on food photography. please be kind to me, it’s my first time.
*Thanks to Sam Chan’s camera, I was able to take these photos! HIHIHI HELLO,SAM!

As you all know, Mother’s day was celebrated yesterday and as expected malls will be full of people and restaurants will jampacked with reservations. Thankfully, even without reserving a table in Dads, Kamayan and Saisaki; we were able to get a slot! WHEW! Kudos to this famous buffet restaurant for having an organized system. :)
I’m not usually the cheesy type when it comes to my family, specially to my mom, but I did my best to write her a letter. (Is it dramatic enough? i wanted to make cry while reading it. Since my mom cries easily I guess she will. HAHA) I know this is personal but I am sharing this to you so that you all know how much i love my mother. :) On another note, the card says “belated” because I am only giving her gift now. Yes, a day late.

I got her a cologne from H&M HK. Thanks to my friend Sam for buying this for me! :) BTW, he bought two, the other one’s for me :> (salamat sa pautang HAHA)

Off to the food! :) I chose the saisaki buffet because I love Japanese food, specifically their sushi and sashimi.

Of course, tempura too! I had to wait 5 mins for these babies. Everyone got crowded in the tempura area, so agawan talaga.

This was my brother’s maki plate. Yes, aside from his mountain of rice and ulam he also had this and another plate for his tempura. Seriously, i don’t know how guys fit all those food in. #amazing

These skewers were mostly fish, the other one was bacon wrapped. SPAZ.

Finally, dessert! YUMYUMYUM. My mom and I love dessert so we devoured our dessert plates like pigs. HAHA

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MA!!! :D -from all of us (kahit wala si kuya sa picture) =))

THE BIG V.D. is tomorrow and No, I don’t have a date. (but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel loved! :P) Although, I do have a lunch date with my UP friends. does that count? HAHAHA and to my crush: “Dear You, you still have a couple if hours left to ask me out for dinner” HAHAHAHA. Ok.
Sorry for my ramblings.
Today’s a monday, and Iskolars (usually) have no classes. It’s a free day for me! I spent it with my sisters. They didn’t go to school because of unfortunate events that I choose not to say. Nonetheless, I bonded with them. We watched Harry Potter and the half-Blood Prince and now we’re watching The Life Aquatic! I also made them shakes, my kuripot pre-valentine gift to them. I call it Peanut Butter and Banana shake with Chocolate on top. (Makaisip lang ng title eh,no? ) HAHAHA Here’s how to make it.
INGREDIENTS : Bananas, Peanut butter cookies, milk, sugar and powdered Chocolate milk.

First thing to do, mash or slice the bananas and put them inside the blender along with the milk. 5 would do, for a very creamy shake @-) Lightly blend.

Next, get your Peanut Butter sandwiches and crush them. This where all the peanut butter goodness comes from. Blend it along with the sugar , little more milk and ice. (add according to taste and preferred creaminess)

FINALLY, SERVE TO YOUR THIRSTY GREMLINS. hihi. In this case, to my sisters! :”>

You can opt to add a teaspoon of chocolate powder or not.

mix it a little bit, happy lemon style. HAHA

ENJOY!

BTW, I also had a pre-valentine gift from my longtime friend, KATHY GO TIAN. Simpleng sweet lang. :”>

Remember, It’s the thought that counts!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL! :*
The title may sound a bit familiar. It’s actually based on Francis Bacon’s essay entitled “Of studies”, which was my reading for my ENG21 class. That essay struck me hard, being short yet quite meaty and freaking *insert synonyms of great here*, thus the title. (Hello, Bacon ba naman.) ANYWAY. I won’t dwell on Bacon’s essay, I’ll save it for my critical paper. HAHA
This week was full of…things to do and I apologize for not being able to blog. Based on the title, I’ve been a loner in school lately. (It’s not a big issue UP actually, everybody just minds their own business and respect you for whatever you are doing.) Most of my friends are from ministry, and they’ve been busy too. I don’t have blockmates either, so I don’t have that “barkada” in class. Honestly,I’m much of a snob in class. :( It’s something that I really want to improve on, make friends. HAHA My friends for the past week are: food, my planner, my readings and my phone.
I ‘m always on a rush every tuesday and thursday because I wouldn’t want to be late in my ENG21 class. So it’s either I bring baon for breakfast, have no breakfast at all OR buy breakfast on my way to class. This time I bought a WAFU stick and coffee, and brought along with me Cafe France’s cheese bread. NOMNOM.
After three straight classes I had to go to Katipunan to do errands for my mom. My one hour and a half break time was cut short. So i just bought peppermint milk tea from Moonleaf! YEY! but boo: I skipped a meal. :(

There was also a day when I was able to actually be with friends. BUT, they had to practice for our org’s event (Thirstday) so I just let them do their thing and I was alone in a corner near them, reading stuff for my next class. #foreveralone

At least I had cool Christian background music while reading!

Oh, and here’s coffee, he may be one of my closest friends. HAHAHA I really need coffee to wake me up. To others this blend may be useless, but for me it works!

One of the things I love in UP are the kiosks and vendors in askal/CASAA. One morning I decided to eat taho. Extra arnibal is always my request haha! (kahit na BAKA may diabetes ako :|)

Last thursday, I had to cut class to do more errands. Before I did all those shenanigans, I had lunch in Grilled tomato.

I ordered…combo 1(?)

SHORT (amateur) REVIEW: The restaurant offers persian food, one of my all time favorites. I’ve tasted one of the most commendable persian food in… Hassan’s. It’s a humble food resto in katip/ imelda ave. SO tasting Grilled Tomato’s persian food means comparing it to Hassan’s and GT has failed to satisfy my tastebuds. :( The meat was not tasty which is an epic failure on their part because persian food is very tasty, even if it’s just the meat of the chicken or beef. Also, their white sauce (whatever you call it) WAS NOT the “garlicy” sauce that I was expecting and the hot sauce was not spicy. Service was…satisfactory.
After eating their food I was energized, but not really satisfied.
SO THERE. I end this particular post with a resto review. HAHA! Any thoughts?

Sadly, one of my professors robbed me of my Christmas break, so this blog will just be a short one. BUT DO NOT FRET! I’ll be posting my “late 2011 summary” on the early weeks on January!
Hindi pa nag-sstart yung year ang dami ng gagawin! WHOOT! But still, I praise God for all the opportunites He has been giving me. He has opened doors for me in the world of blogging too, thus I pledge to improve my blog’s layout and such in the coming 2012. (I’m looking for layout artists and “photoshopers”, do you know any?) This is what I thought of.
Forgive me, I’m not much of an artist.

Very scribbles/doodles ang peg. HAHA. I hope someone can actually do this on PC, make it more attractive, put in my layout and boom= nice new look for the tabs. :) HIHI
I’ll also be leaving you with these photos of the snacks I’ve been munching on. I guess, like the rest of us, I’ve also gained tons of weight. But who can resist…
THESE?

I haven’t tried this one yet. Maybe later, to relieve myself from these annoying colds! :(

This ham was given to us by our lolo from the states and we still haven’t opened it! I hope di pa siya bulok. haha. And oohhh! NESQUICK! childhood! :D

I can’t wait to start training and lose all the fat I’ve gained. (and of course, I can’t wait to dance and be with mah friends!)
I love you all! Thank you for reading my blog! I feel the love, I hope you do too.
*If you haven’t please do follow my blog here (look at the upper right corner) and in bloglovin, like its fan page and follow me on twitter. I have lots in store for my readers for 2012.
God bless and Happy new year! Stay safe!
